Agree numbering, barcodes, QR or encoding.
Seasonal and repeat supply
Prepare for launches, peak periods and reorders.
Custom gift cards for products, treats and experiences
Make the card feel like part of what you sell. The design can reflect a favourite shop, a meal out, a salon treatment or an experience someone is looking forward to.
Retail and garden centres
Keep the brand prominent and the redemption details easy to find. Discuss how cards will be displayed, sold and presented at the counter.
Restaurants, hotels and leisure
Create a consistent design for dining, stays and experiences. Plan space for the offer, booking information and the terms your business provides.
Salons, spas and services
Present a treatment or gift value in a format that suits your brand. A matching carrier can include room for the giver’s message and recipient’s name.
Gift card printing with matching carriers
Illustrative card and carrier artwork. Final sizes and attachment details are agreed for your order.
Think about the moment the gift is handed over. A coordinated card and carrier keep the design consistent and give you space for a message, instructions or scheme information.
Choose the presentation around its use
- A branded carrier for counter or hanging display
- A wallet or folded format for a gift presentation
- Space for a personal message, value or occasion
- Envelopes and mailing packs where required
Tell us how the card will be attached, displayed and removed. We will confirm the format and finish so the artwork, card position and any scanning area work together.
Choose the material for your printed gift cards
Start with how the card will be used. A reusable card, a single gift issue and a keepsake may need different materials or finishes.
Plastic gift cards
A familiar wallet-sized option for regular handling. Standard CR80 cards are approximately 86 × 54mm. Discuss the thickness, gloss or matt finish, printed sides and any technology required.
Recycled PVC
Compare recycled PVC when you want to retain a plastic card format. Confirm the chosen stock, print finish and compatibility with any reader or encoding requirements.
Board and other materials
Paperboard can be considered for a gift card issue, while wood offers a different look and feel. Ask ACB to confirm the construction, expected life and available technology for the material.
If the card needs to be written on, swiped or scanned, include that in the brief. Material choice and surface finish should be agreed alongside the design.
Plastic gift cards with barcodes and QR codes
Your gift card or EPOS platform manages activation, balances and redemption. The printed card needs to carry the identifier and format that platform expects.
Ask your provider for its card specification before production. Tell ACB which system you use and whether it requires a barcode, QR code, magnetic stripe or contactless technology.
Fixed values or value added at the till?
A fixed gift value can be included in the artwork. For cards loaded at the point of sale, agree the card numbering and activation process with your provider. Include the quantity needed for each value or design in your enquiry.
Check a sample with your system
Confirm the code type, data format and any encoding requirements. Check that sample data scans and maps to the correct test record before approving the full run.
Create a gift card design that works on both sides
Front · Make the gift clear
Lead with your brand and a clear gift message. Include the fixed value or experience when required, while keeping important text inside the agreed safe area.
Reverse · Make redemption simple
Allow clear space for the identifier and any human-readable number. Add the redemption instructions, contact details and the scheme wording your business supplies.
Carrier · Complete the presentation
Coordinate the colours, message areas and card position. Check folds, attachment points and display holes against the approved carrier template.
Supply your artwork, logo and sample code data, or discuss the design brief with ACB. We will confirm dimensions, bleed and safe areas for the chosen card and carrier before you approve the proof.
Where individual codes or names are required, agree the data format first. Check the front, reverse, numbering and any accompanying carrier as one complete set.
From your gift card brief to approved production
01 · Plan the programme
Tell us the card quantity, intended use, material preference, required date and gift card system. Include any carrier or mailing requirements.
02 · Agree the specification
Confirm the design, printed sides, finish, variable data and any encoding. We will discuss the complete card and presentation specification.
03 · Review and approve
Check the artwork proof and carrier layout. Confirm your code data and system compatibility before approving the production run.
04 · Print and supply
Once the proof and order requirements are ready, we arrange production and the agreed delivery or fulfilment service.
Gift cards for your next launch, season and reorder
Plan the first issue around your locations, expected demand and campaign dates. Keep an approved master design and a clear record of the numbers used, so repeat runs stay consistent.
For Christmas, launches or other peak periods, share the required delivery date at the quotation stage. Production timing depends on the material, artwork, quantities and finishing, so agree the schedule before you commit to a launch.
Need packing or direct mailing?
ACB can discuss card personalisation, matching carriers or letters, envelopes and dispatch. Tell us whether you need bulk delivery to your team, stock for several locations or individual gift packs.
If recipient details are needed, contact us before sending a list so we can agree the data and transfer route.
For general guidance on handling recipient information, see the ICO’s data protection advice for small organisations.

Gift card printing: your questions answered
How much does gift card printing cost?
Your quotation depends on quantity, material, finish, number of designs and any individual codes or encoding. Matching carriers and fulfilment also affect the total. Send the complete brief to ACB for a tailored price.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
The minimum depends on the selected card, material and production route. Ask ACB to confirm it for your specification, including any smaller repeat orders or additional denominations you expect to need.
Can your printed gift cards work with our till system?
Share the exact gift card or EPOS provider and its card requirements. We can discuss the specified barcode, QR code, magnetic stripe or technology. Confirm compatibility and sample data with your provider before approving the full run.
Can we print fixed gift values on the cards?
Yes, a fixed value or named experience can form part of the artwork. Tell us the designs, values and quantity for each. For cards loaded at the till, agree the numbering and activation process with your system provider.
Does the printing service include gift card software?
Discuss the physical cards, printing, codes and presentation with ACB. Your chosen gift card or EPOS platform manages activation, balances and redemption, so its requirements need to be part of the print brief.
Can we order matching gift card carriers?
Yes. We can discuss branded carriers, wallets, message areas and envelopes around your intended presentation. Agree the dimensions, attachment method and any display requirements before the artwork is approved.
Are eco gift card materials available?
Compare recycled PVC, board and wood options with ACB. The right material depends on appearance, handling, card life and any reader or encoding requirements. Our eco card pages explain the material routes.
Can every gift card have a different number or barcode?
Yes. Individual numbering, barcodes, QR codes and other personalisation can be specified. Agree the format, unique data and future numbering sequence before supplying the production file.
Can you prepare gift cards for several locations or mailing?
Tell us where the cards need to go and how they should be packed. We can discuss bulk supply, branch deliveries or personalised packs with carriers, letters and envelopes, with the service and costs agreed in advance.
How long will our gift card order take?
Timing depends on the quantity, chosen materials, artwork, encoding and finishing. Share your required date when you enquire. We will confirm the schedule around proof approval, production and delivery for your order.
